Guangdong Engineering Technology Research Center of Agricultural and Forestry Biomass is built based on the key discipline of the State Forestry Administration of South China Agricultural University and the key discipline of Bioenergy Energy School. Now it has 20 fixed personnel, composing a team of talents covering genetic breeding, molecular biology, phytochemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, polymer chemistry, and wood science, including 10 people with senior titles, 7 people with secondary senior titles and 3 people with intermediate titles. All the personnel have doctoral degrees. Since its approval in 2017, it has won 6 state-level projects, 8 provincial and ministerial-level projects and 8 invention patents, and published more than 40 SCI papers. The Engineering Center gives full play to its own advantages, strengthens collaborative innovation, combines with research institutes, enterprises and promotion departments to consolidate, integrate and transform existing technological achievements, commits to the cultivation of new agricultural and forestry biomass resources and the research on key technologies of transforming them into biomass energy, biomass materials and bio-based chemicals, conducts common technology research, results incubation, industrialization demonstration, talent training and technical services, and provides support for the development of biomass engineering industry in Guangdong Province and even the whole country.
